Finished Projects

finished felted mittens

Felted Mittens
Yarn: Real Colours' worsted weight 100% acrylic (cuff)
, Marjo 75% wool, 25% viscose
Pattern: Based on the one found at www.knittingatknoon.com
I finally hankered down and knit like crazy on these for the five days where temperatures dropped to -12ºC. However, I haven't had the weather to wear them since I've finished! I *heart* the furry Marjo yarn. Even though it is 75% wool, it is soft and fluffy as ever. Plus, I got three hanks on sale at Knitworks..too bad it was a closeout sale. The thumbs are slightly longer than I had calculated, but overall, they are great. Planning on making a matching hat!

Purse-sized tote

Small tote
Yarn: Cotton / acryrlic blend, denim colour
Pattern: Based on this one.
Originally I'd purchased this yarn to make a "tweedy" felted cat basket..but unfortunately I hadn't noticed that it had no wool, mohair, or other "natural" materials in it. Thus was born this bag. It's not too pretty (or big, for that matter), but I'll probably be using it to tote lunches or knitting projects to and fro. I'm not too pleased with the fact that it is super stretchy, but oh well.

soft baby blue baby mitts

Baby mitts for cousin Nathan
Yarn: Bernat Ultra Silky Soft (100% Acrylic)
Pattern: Knitting at Knoon
Sweet project. Took me two days, leisurely. Should have just taken an afternoon, but still. Great little project.

Children's mittens for charity

Mittens for Charity
Yarn: Real Colours WW (100% Acrylic)
Pattern: Knitting at Knoon
Another fast project to knit up. I omit the i-cord since I don't have anyone to measure for, and I'll probably knit and felt a pair for myself as well, using different yarn and gauge. Perfect to use up your stash.
