It's 11:22 am. Wierd. 11 seems to be my number as of late, and 22 has *always* been Mark's number. Anyhoo. I am feeling good. It is sunny and warm outside, and I am getting my haircut this afternoon. I'll also make some cookies or something today... I've already done a ~1 1/2 hour workout starting with the "Carribean Workout", then a ~5km bike ride to and through Central Park. It was relaxing, even though in the end I totally died. It's a shame how many times I had to let up because I could feel the tiredness starting up. I dyed and streaked my cousin's hair last night. We used L’ORÉAL PARIS - Couleur Experte. My comments? Misleading product. The package contains two different sets of colouring agents; one an actual hair dye, the other a bleach. You use the hair dye first, let it set for 25 minutes, then rinse your hair...but the instructions do not mention whether you should dry your hair after this or to leave it wet. :\ Next you mix together the second set of chemicals and streak it on using a mascara-like wand. This flimsy wand would probably work on my fine, thin, straight hair, but if you have thicker or curly / wavy or even longer hair, you can forget about it. The bleach tends to clump up and your hair gets tangled in the wand. Ouch. We went from a streaking cap that we had laying about to freestyle to using foil to separate hair that had been streaked from hair that was not streaked. The bad thing is that this hair streaking system costs a little under $30, and you will definitely need a friend around to help you out if you have longer hair. I found that L'oreal's other product, "chunking highlights" was much better, and EXACTLY the same as the bleaching agent found in the kit we used last night. In fact, the "chunking" kit worked a lot better because it came with a streaking cap included, along with a streaking hook that was large enough to pull good amounts of hair through. After two long months of complaining that my hair was to long and that I need a haircut, I finally dropped by my mother's friends' salon for a much needed chop. Chop is exactly the word -- even though I cautioned her to keep it on the long side, and to also keep it layered, she chopped off THREE INCHES!!! Three inches is not a lot for some people, but my hair is already short as it WAS, now it is EXTREMELY short. I feel like a boy. I wanted the haircut so I could look more put together and confident for networking tomorrow at the banquet, and also because I was starting a new job. BAD CHOICE. Now I have low confidence and feel like shit. I have been taking naps in the afternoon for the past week. Right around two in the afternoon, I am horribly tired..I can't stay awake. hmm. Time to either sleep in or to sleep earlier at night, although I have to say, I love the "quiet time" in both the wee hours of the night as well as the fresh promising serene mornings. Time to get ready for Dragonboat.
