I am so happy. I cannot explain to you how relieved and grateful and .. happy I am right now that exams are over. However, I am slightly astonished and overwhelmed by the fact that I'll actually have the summer free of books, reports, calculations and exams. WOOOOHOOOOO!!! I'm just going to relax for the first week (if i'm able) and spend the summer:
I am really REALLY looking forward to summer. So I had to recuperate after that long entry. And I had to rest up and save my brain juice for exams. ...which brings me to today. Today we took our last exam, a QC exam, where we all finished quite early, played mahjong for a bit, decided to go to the pub on campus for beer and lime margaritas. Num. (Jerry had water.) When we got back to the classroom, we were slightly buzzed and happy and Min was awarded a monetary award for the top mark in his directed studies project. Michael won as well. I am SO proud of them both..I really think their hard and thorough work paid off. Good things go to those that deserve them. We stuck around the free food at school for a while and we (well I at least) reluctantly left the room for the final time. I'll miss that room. The room, the voices, the people and the laughter. Yeah. I think I'm even missing G.nga. crap. what's wrong with me?
"Life is something that happens to you while you're making other plans." Ms Millar was probably talking about the past two years of my life. While I was worrying about homework and quizzes, life happened in the people that I interacted with and learned from. I have to make you understand about my class. The Food Technology program is an intensive 2-year diploma program that runs ~30-35 hours a week. Full time. I've been with these people 30 bloody hours a week, for two years. It's hard to leave something that close behind. But I'll have to. So. I am meeting Lieh next week when he visits Vancouver!! That'll be the second OJ tht I have met in the past year, and in...forever. I don't know about other Vancouver journlists..it seems that we are so private and closed and somewhat laid back. ..unlike the SF journalists who go out together and invite each other to birthday parties and stuff. Oh well. I also saw the Matrix: Reloaded this afternoon, and I have to say...I definately don't think as highly of it as everyone else did. I think they stretched what could have been a 50-minute story line by throwing in repetitive fight scenes, unnecessary scenes (cave dance / rave scene), and replacing the whole premise of the movie with a horrible love story. DUDE. I didn't want to see Matrix for a romance...besides, who could believe *that* relationship anyways??? Trinity is NOT that hot. I *do* think that the twins were pretty cool, although the movie didn't explain what they exactly were...and I also thought the video wall with the architect was neat. I liked the oracle, the Frenchie "it's like wiping shit off your ass with silk.." and the role of the keymaker. I think the mix of cultures / races was nice, although I thought the Asian soldier working for the French programmer looked frightful (and just HOW unrealistic was his role anyways? He didn't even get a wack at Neo, he just kept on flying into walls and sh!t). New Quotables page. I am feeling good. Again.
