American Idol Night baby!!! I guess I'll take after Rikki and write a critique.

First up: Kimberley Caldwell. Disappointing. I actually like her powerful husky voice, but not her person...and her singing an "upbeat" song doesn't really work because she doesn't have the right voice for it. boo. Disappointing. Like the judges said, not really a good showcase of her talent.

Clay Aiken...skinny boy BROUGHT IT! ;p Well, like Randy, I still don't know where that voice is coming from. I like his confidence too. I didn't know too much about the start of the song..it sounded a little lounge-y, but as his performance progressed, there was more depth to his voice. As always, very strong, comfortable, and confident.

Nasheka. The first time I saw her on AI, I thought she was pretty...but damn man, would it hurt her to smile? Poor Nasheka...she only had one wing. (Not wingS) I know that "s" and hard constantants are hard to enounciate, and shouldn't be emphasized too much..but I didn't really enjoy her performance. Next up, Carmen ..

Carmen Rasmusen. Sang a dance mix of Diane Warren / Leanne Rimes' "can't Fight the Moonlight" I think she's sweet, but I didn't like her performance. I don't think this version of the song was as good for her. It didn't let her really let go and wail...and she had this funny stance throughout the entire song. It looked ..funny.

Next was Olivia Mojica. She looked so pink. Not a strong voice, very childlike and gentle and ...not womanly-confident enough. Give her a couple years.

Janine Falsone. man...I'm straight, but Janine knew how to work it. The camera LOVED her. BUT. She was slightly off key and off beat for parts of the song. Not good. ...Simon couldn't be mean to her because she was too cute. poo on that.

umm...who sang next? . . . . O my. Chip Days..blah. went a little brain dead there..Chip's act was a little cheesy..then i realized it was a MJ song and thought better of it. It was definately more lively than his last performance, and I like his new shirt, but I think he's capable of better.

Aliceyn Cooney sang a Sarah Mclachlan song...you know what? I like her voice. But you could really tell that she was nervous. And the fact that they sped up the song didn't help much. What was with that?! How are you supposed to sing to a sped up SM song? I like the song, I know she can sing it...don't think the performance was all that good though.

Trenyce. A lot of passion, nice to round out this show of "dead" performances with some life. What was she WEARING?? Hot pink miniskirt with a bra covered by a see-through cape?

If I could vote, I would have voted for Aliceyn and Clay. You lucky Americans you. Would someone do me a favour and do it? *blink blink smile smile*

I should be doing homework. Tomorrow I make brownies, study, go to the gym for cardio, and perhaps spend a Happy birthday with Mark. :) Happy Birthday Honey!!! May all your wishes come true. (and yes I am SURE he is enjoying his birthday prezzies! :) ...tomorrow I will probably also do homework and some chores. *sigh*

Oooh. know what else? It's This-or-That Tuesday!

1. Soup or salad? Soup. Definately. Unless it's a hearty potato / chicken / turkey salad. Or summertime.
2. Hot or cold sandwiches? If I could, I would have hot sandwiches all the time. (Hot pastrami on rye, toasted roast beef, warm corned beef) But I can't.
3. White or whole wheat bread (or rye, etc)? Whole wheat, rye, fibre bread, just anything more interesting than white bread. bleech.
4. Pack a lunch for work/school, or buy it? Pack.
5. If you eat out...fast-food chain, or mom & pop type place? Hmm. Mom & pop type Place. it's usually more comfortable and you get better service, along with people who care what you think..except when it comes to breakfasts. Then it's McD's, IHOP's or ABC CountryStyle.
6. Tuna or chicken salad? Both are good when prepared well. I have this KILLER wasabi-honey mayo dressing for tuna that just ROCKS.
7. Cheese: Swiss or cheddar (or American, etc)? Usually no cheese. But I suppose if there HAD to be cheese, then it depends on what complements the sandwich.
8. Mustard or mayo? Mayo.
9. Sandwiches: wrap/pita pocket, or regular bread/roll? The sub shops always rip you off with a wrap / pita. So regular foot-long multigrain bread will do it.
10. Sweet stuff: cookie/cake or fresh fruit? Cookie / brownie / cake for SURE

Better get cracking.
