Just got back from the gym. I talked to Isabelle earlier this evening, poor girl...she has a cold in the last week of summer, right before school. I think I would cry if I didn't just spend my summer working. :| Not that work was bad, just that, like she put it, "I didn't have time to rest and unwind." Which is true. But life is like that I guess. For the last while I've been working on developing recipies with prepared roasted, grilled, and sauteed veg. In particular, chili peppers, onions, garlic, and bell peppers. So far, it's been flavoured butters, spicy roasted eggplant dip / spread, and guacamole with roasted jalapeno and poblano peppers. Next it will be raviolis with roasted eggplant or red pepper fillings, with grilled poblano mole, spicy polenta bites with red pepper aioli / serrano mock pesto, and roasted onion & swiss / grilled red pepper & ham / smokehouse roasted portabello & thyme souffles. Before that I was working on developing some recipes for a client....and they were amazing. There as this juicy, punchy lamb dish which was a twist on the traditional provencale preparation, that was definately my favorite. Car search is going along slowly. I feels wierd to be shopping for a car, on one hand I really want to believe that the deals are there, on the other hand, I don't know if it's a good idea. The dealer looks shady, the car doesn't look right, or the mileage is too high. I don't know if I can do it, and it's stressing me out. For the last week, Mark has been talking nothing but cars. I finally told him that I couldn't take it anymore on Sunday night after we'd just spent the entire day in and out of car lots when he pulled out the buy and sell paper again. gaaaah. Am I ready for school? What's to be ready for? I wasn't ready for anything this summer and I've faired well enough, haven't I? :) Alberta was nice. The same cannot be said for the company, however. well...I guess we had our moments, but my parents can really drive any sane person insane. (as the saying goes.) They think themselves and myself so feeble that they'd actually called BCAA when we went down to the car one morning and found that we had a flat tire. Mind you, these were luxury tires, and the spare was a full-sized tire. Still. Please. I had the tire changed by the time they came back downstairs to the carpark, probably arguing in the lobby about what to do, and to tell me and my sister that the BCAA guy was on his way. We ended up standing him up I guess, and drove onto Banff, then up to Edmonton. Pictures to follow.
