As I kept repeating over and over to Mark Y last night.. "I can't believe today (yesterday) just happened." I had nothing left to say to them. Congratulations simply wasn't enough..good luck was too cheerful.. . . She (Eva B) hugged me and thanked me for my time and help and heart. She said she read my card to them the night before, and it was very profound. What are the odds that I go to my best friends' wedding and get to meet his relatives? Pretty high, apparently. Mark B was even saying a couple nights before that one of the girls from his church had the same last maiden name as My Mark. Apparently Mark Y is related to half the people at the church the ceremony was at, and a couple of the ladies probably even taught me while I attended preschool and chinese school at the church. I'd met one of the cousins a week before at Eva's bridal shower, and another one last night at the church when we went in to arrange all the flowers. The Y family clan has approximately 150 members...that Mark Y and Adena knew of. What a small world. It's strange the day after. It's subtly suiting that the 28th, the night before the wedding, there was a huge rain and wind storm, yet yesterday, the weather cleared up for their wedding pictures. It's even more suiting that today, the first day of the rest of their lives together, that it is gorgeously sunny. The birth of a new life. I bawled like a baby during the ceremony. Not good, considering I was an usher. I saw her get out of her silver Lincoln Navigator and I started crying. I took pictures of them and I cried. They walked down the aisle, his dad read a scripture, they took their vows, they were introduced as Mr. and Mrs. B. I CRIED. Then there was a small reception at the church provided by the church members that knew Mark and Eva where a harpist played, finger sandwiches were served, and butter cookies laid out on doily-ed plates. After a long photo shoot at Central Park, me and Mark Y sat back for an hour at my house...changed, and went to the reception at an Italian restaurant. Alex was wasted already and Mark Y and I clinked our glasses everytime the bride or groom had just walked away from the head table, or they had food in their mouth.. we're immature like that. :) Then to shut us up, Agata spoke up to the crowd and announced that the bride and groom would only kiss when we sang songs with "love" in it. It was a perfect day. Surreal still, but perfect. *sigh*
