Run Sheet
I went out today and thoroughly inspected all my hives. I found the incipient clues of foulbrood in one. I spoke to my uncle about it, he's a master beekeeper with many years experience. We have a fair amount of confidence that it can be controlled through medication. None of the others are affected that I can see, but then I didn't see it before, so who knows. I'll probably be so paranoid about it from now on that i'll see it everywhere.
It was a miserable, rainy day and I set fire to the affected hive in my back yard. It was the capper to a really crappy weekend overall.
I'm not a subscriber to any particular religion, I'm Jew by background and Pagan by practice. I take what appeals to me from pieces of many different religions and it feels right. I remembered that the ancient egyptians considered the bee to be sacred and honey was worth more than its weight in gold. I also remembered that they entombed their pharoahs with everything they would need in the afterlife. Consequently I left all the summer's honey in their hive when I burned it, at least they won't be hungry in the hereafter.
Other than that I didn't do much, I was pretty depressed.
